Inkari Plush Alpacas — Mini, Small, Medium, Large

UPDATED 20 Aug 2025: Recall Dates amended

We are writing to inform you that some Inkari Plush Alpacas have been identified as presenting a safety risk to children under 3. During testing, it was found that the plastic eyes may detach on some units, creating a potential choking hazard for small children.

These products do not comply with EU/US product safety standards. Because of this, we are conducting a product recall across all markets.

This recall applies to all units sold since 1 November 2020 to 31st July 2025.

Actions Required (Distributors & Retailers):

1️⃣ Assess stock on hand
Check current inventory and identify all affected stock.

2️⃣ Cease sales
Remove all affected units from sale, both in store and online.

3️⃣ Download and display one of the available posters within your store
You are required to alert your customers to the recall, we have prepared a number of posters for your store.

4️⃣ Return or destroy unsold stock
You may choose to:
Destroy the remaining units and provide proof of destruction:

✅ OR return the stock to us at your expense (if pre-agreed with us).

Please contact us first using the resellers@inkari-alpaca.com to let us know the number and range of stock you have remaining, if you wish to destroy or return the stock and if you prefer a refund or credit. 

Please provide a contact number and suitable times to contact you and we will call you to discuss the next steps. 

End-customer returns:

  • The safety risk relates to young children or if the alpaca is chewed.

  • Adult collectors using the product for display only are not exposed to significant risk - however, because of the potential choking hazard, a recall of products is required.

  • Where possible, please communicate this clearly to your customers.

If customers do return products to your store:

  • Please process refunds directly to the customer.

  • Collect proof of refund and proof of destruction of the refunded items.

  • Provide this information to us via resellers@inkari-alpaca.com for records and any agreed credit/refund.

Compensation:
We will provide credit or refund to you for unsold stock — on receipt of either:

  • Proof of destruction, or

  • Returned product (if pre-agreed).

We will not cover return shipping unless previously agreed.

Record-keeping:
For regulatory compliance, we must maintain complete records of the recall. Please ensure you send all required documents to us.
